There’s no denying it, the Offshore Technology Conference is the largest event in the world for the oil and gas industry. It’s right around the corner, so if you are one of the thousands who will be heading to OTC2025, here are a few tips to keep in mind as you plan your agenda and pack your bags. While everything may be bigger in Texas, with a solid plan and some advance work, your luggage shouldn’t be.
Average Weather Conditions
Welcome to Houston, where mild temperatures typically rule the day. May finds daily highs increasing from 83° to the low 90s, with a few days dropping below 70°. Note to self: Layering is the way to go. Pack a rain coat, sunscreen and a light sweater. And, above all, pack comfortable shoes. Getting to and from the show means a lot of walking. And with incredible technologies and equipment to see on the show floor, you’re sure to hit your 10,000 steps in no time!
Bring Your Appetite
As the nation’s fourth largest city, Houston boasts of a wide range of restaurants from fine dining to the more local, low-key joints. Ask the natives and they’ll be sure to tell you to give our BBQ a try. Oh, and the Fajitas. Chicken or Beef? Make it both. Oh yes, Chili and, for that neighboring Louisianan or Cajun flare, some tasty gumbo. Oh my.

What to Do and What to See
Beyond the great talks and networking opportunities found in and around NRG Park, there is loads to do and see in and around Houston.
