Sure, Outdoor Retailer is a great show and good for business, but let’s face it, you’re not spending an entire trip to Colorado working! Here are five spots to hit when it’s play time.
5. Kayaking in Confluence Park
Ride the man-made kayak whitewater chutes in Confluence Park. Located just minutes from downtown, Confluence Park is the junction of Cherry Creek with the South Platte, about 1/2 way through Denver on the South Platte. It’s a great change of pace from being on the show floor!
4. Scoo Tours Denver
Got the itch for the wind in your hair, a little bit of speed and an adventure? Scoo Tours Denver is a great way to find spots to explore in Denver, such as the Colorado State Capitol. Small guided tours are available. So if you’d like to learn a bit about the history, architecture, and beautiful city of Denver, or you can travel some favorite routes such as a mini road-trip towards Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, CO, or you can zip over to the Santa Fe Arts District to visit inspiring galleries. Reservations are required.
3. Quench Your Hunger & Thirst in LoDo
LoDo, Denver’s oldest neighborhood, is home to some of the city’s best-known restaurants, galleries, shops, and boutiques. Located in the heart of downtown, businesses ranging from finance and real estate to retail and start-ups can be found here.
2. Hang Glide Colorado
Offering tandem hang gliding, Hang Glide Colorado is an adrenaline rush in the sky just a short trip away in Denver, right near the Colorado School of Mines. They offer tandem flights for beginners, and their pilots are known for their achievements in flight safety. The flight will take you over the famous School of Mines “M” as you soar near Mount Zion.
1. Denver Art Museum
Boasting the world’s greatest collection of Native American art and 68,000 other art objects, including works from European masters, Old West classics, and phenomenal traveling exhibits, the Denver Art Museum is a must-see. Located in the heart of downtown Denver, this architectural gem has all the amenities. A perfect place to host some select clients during Outdoor Retailer.
As North America’s largest tradeshow in the outdoor industry drawing attendees from around the world, Outdoor Retailer Summer Market is all about face-to-face—it’s where products are shown, orders are written, new accounts are found, connections are made, and brands are launched. If you need any assistance with the show or on the transition from Salt Lake City to Denver, give us a shout.
